Cape Canaveral'

We landed in Melbourne, Fl about 10:30 am. We payed $45 for an airport shuttle to take us to the cruise port, the ride took about an hour.  We boarded the ship at noon, the embarkation process was pretty smooth.  We couldn't get into our rooms until 1:30, so they provided lunch for everyone on the Lido deck. It was raining... florida weather is so unpredictable. We unpacked our bags then walked around the ship a bit. It is quite large. The ship pulled out around 4, we make it to a top deck to watch. It was windy, but not raining. We talked to some couples on deck, most of them first time cruisers also.

Nice review of your trip with tips so helpful to learn. I can't wait to go to the Bahamas but I want to visit some of the other islands in the Bahamas, as well and Nassau too.

My family took a 5 night Carnival cruise out of Jacksonville, FL (Jaxport) mid Feb 2007 - very nice leaving port, everyone very helpful. 1st stop Key West, FL - AWESOME - wonderful shopping - don't take men with you let them go off on their own. Nassau, Bahamas - colorful landscape, wonderful beaches and very nice looking port BUT - dirty - I'm mean inner city dirty. You need to watch out for all the people who would like to braid your hair (MANY), and the taxi drivers that can't wait to take you some where. We took a catamaran out to scuba for the first time (arranged thru the ship that am watching the weather)- well worth it until the unexpected storm came up and well the captain of the boat, well let's just say common sense isn't his strong point. We took off straight into the storm. The passengers starting singing the theme song to "Gilligan's Island", it was that bad. So after arriving back in port - little shopping got done - rude drivers, I guess they don't like all the tourists. Anyway, went to Senor Frogs for dinner - ok - EXPENSIVE is putting it mildly but the sights in the bar made up for it. My kids learned a quick lesson about drinking as a woman was "carried out" of the bar. Back in Jaxport for disembarkation - very smoothly. Drove to FL, so we had to drive home the driver insisted that we go straight home - we arrived home at 2 am to 7 inches of snow and 3 inches of ice on top. Needless to say there was work to do later that morning. FUN SHIP - CARNIVAL - FUN CRUISE - going again with girlfriends - same exact cruise the end of Jan 08.
