Arrived in Oslo from various US points (Seattle, Phoenix and New Jersey). We were very very tired, but had promised to look up my friend's mom's friend who lives in Olso. Inga took us out to a lovely lunch and then to Vigeland sculpture park. Then we headed to Frognerseteren for coffee and applecake. YUM! Another bonus--beautiful views of the city. On the way we passed by the Holmenkollen ski jump. Eventually being awake for 29 straight hours caught up with us and we went to bed about 7 pm. In mid-May it barely gets dark in Norway, making it difficult to sleep anyway, but we also discovered the joy of the "Russ." These soon to be graduating high school seniors rent out big buses the week of May 17th (Norwegian Constitution Day) and party non stop. So just as we'd get to sleep a Russ Bus would drive by our window, BLARING loud (and usually bad, 1980s) music. It was only funny the first 5 times.
