What a great trip!
Friday:
We were two families traveling with a 4 year old, 3 year old, 13 mo old, and a 10 mo old. So we were a bit limited in what we did.
We started out with the Arch downtown. Only 1 of the 4 adults hadn't been up in the Arch. We got everyone inside the "tram" for the ride to the top.
We then checked into our hotel. We stayed at the Residence Inn by Marriot at the Galleria. We chose the Penthouse Suite since we wanted a place with two bedrooms and something that allowed us to all be together. It was nice...a little cramped and not well laid out for two families with kids. The steps to the loft were a problem as we couldn't gate all of them off properly. All in all...it worked, but we probably wouldn't stay there again for that reason. Breakfast in the morning was wonderful and the price was easy on the pocket as well since we divided it.
Saturday:
We started out the morning to lots of RAIN!! UGH...
We headed to breakfast at the hotel...very good and very filling!
We then went to the Magic House. We had a blast! There was so much for the kids to do (even the babies enjoyed their little area) We were there for about 3 hours and could have stayed longer but with the little ones we were reaching our limit. The magic house was very busy thou! Lots of kids and a very easy place for little ones to get lost...so hang on to them!
There is a huge McDonalds located approx. 1 block away (how convenient) and that's where we had a late lunch.
Naps followed ;-)
Since it was still raining, we then headed to the St. Louis Mills. What a great place for some shopping, playtime and food. We ate at the Tony Roma's (famous for Ribs) and it was really good. There is also lots to do for the kids (playground, carosel, etc.) while the mommy's could do some shopping!
Sunday:
What a gorgeous day! We again did breakfast at the hotel - awesome! and checked out.
We headed to the St. Louis Zoo for the day. At FREE admission...how can you go wrong???!!!
The zoo was fabulous and we had a great time. The kids all took turns riding in the strollers, backpacks, slings and each took a nap at one point. We were there from around 11am until it closed at 5pm.
Note: The food prices were high of course, but you can bring your own "picnic" lunch if you are willing to drag it around or go back to your car.
There were a few more things that we wanted to do...but we'll just have to come back again!
