Arrived at Saigon airport to be greeted by coutesy pickup from Windsor hotel.
This is a welcome sign when arriving in a strange country because regardless of how well planned you can be sometimes getting to your hotel can be daunting.
We were totally blown away by all the traffic. Literally hundreds of motorbikes absolutely everywhere going in every direction possible. Total madness with everyone knowing who was going where and giving way to everyone regardless of who ws in the right and who was in the wrong. In time we realise you just have to cross the roads regardless of oncoming traffic and they actually just drive around you. The average speed of most people of bikes is 30-40km. Everyone doing the same speed going around everyone in their way.
Nice hotel, away from town in District 5. Shuttle bus to District 1 or a $5 US taxi drive away. Was worth staying out of town simply for the lack of traffic. (Still totally crazy even that far away from town. A contant horn blowing experience).
Only cost around $7 US compared to around $180 Aust back home
