Enjoyed The Color Purple to the max. Amazing talent, wonderful score, powerful story. A must see. The Producers.. another great Broadway show starring Tony Danza... upbeat.. fast moving show... loved the song "If you got it flaunt it" .
Staten Island Ferry, a free ride and a fantastic way to see the Stature of Liberty. We enjoyed a night of comedy, Birdland Jazz Club, Shopping on Canel Street, Brunch at Billys Black in Harlem... Sunday Brunch.. zagat rated .. Oh my goodness.. the food was down-home kinda good! Dinner at Bobby Flay's Bar American.. in Manhatten.. order the steak.. wear loose fitting clothes. Saw the remanents of WTC, from our Liberty Helicopter ride over the city. Shopping in the Village... subway rides.. and of course.. the taxis are a story in an of themselves. I'm still looking for the cash cab! When we got tired of standing in the cold to get a cab we ordered a van for the day from 1-800-carmel. Carmel rents car/driver for 36.00 an hour. Good people wonderful service. Well worth the money.
we used both the Doubletree Times Square and Doubletree Metropolitan. Times Square location was perfect for walking to the theaters.. Doubletree Metropolitan's location wasn't as close to the theaters but still within walking distance. I'd recommend either hotel. The service was pleasent.
