Day 1

ImageChicago really made it convenient for the travellers!  From the airport without needing to walk outside at all, we reached the CTA train station and bought our Visitor's pass.  We got 2-days pass for $9, and 1-day pass for $5.  Then we followed the direction from Chicago Transit website's trip planner and made our way to Frank Lloyd Wright's Home & Studio.  His home is not huge, but so much to see!  Frank actually had sold the house to others, and was finally bought back again by the foundation.  And with Frank's youngest son's help at age of 92, they restored it back to its orginal form in the early 1900's.  Really amazing.

Got to Lou Malnati's around 3:30pm, we were starving!  We ordered drinks and a small size deep dish pizza to share.   But it takes 30min to bake!  The waiter was very nice, kept on offering to refill our drinks during the wait.   The pizza was worth the wait though, so much cheese and toppings!  Price for small pizza  for two was about $12.

ImageAt 5pm we made it to the Art Institute of Chicago just in time for the free admission time start.   Very amazing Impressionist collection, not to mention the building itself and it's surroundings.  Our cousins picked us up at 6:30pm and went to Cheesecake Factory for dinner.  The interior decor of this Cheesecake is kind of weird, we felt like we are either getting squished by fermenting bread or sitting inside a human body, not as nice as the ones in Cali. at all, but the food are equally good, and really huge portions for girls!  None of us finished our meals, but still there's always room for dessert!  The cheesecake was so delicious that I wished I had ordered one for myself instead of sharing!  Price for meals are reasonable.  Other than our weird interpretation of the decor, the place has good ambiance.
