Where to eat

Baan Kanitha & Gallery (Thai)
69 South Sathron Road @ Soi Suan-Plu
Very authentic Thai food.  Their set lunch at BHT 230 (weekday only, I believe) is a true bargain, considering a Thai Iced Coffee will set you back BHT 120 further.

Baan Klang Nam (Thai Seafood)Image
3792/106 Soi 14, Rama III Road
This riverside restaurant is a must-have dining experience in Bangkok.  Seafood is their specialty and special it is.  Their curry crab is beyond imagination.  The location is quite remote, so taxi ride is a must.  Ask your hotel concierge for assistance.

Chinatown Dining - Shark Fins & Bird Nest (Chinese)
Yaowarat Road
There are really only 2 reasons you eat Chinese food in Bangkok: shark fins soup, and bird's nest. Both are Chinese delicacies, and both are available locally for a fraction of the price and with high quality.  There are a lot of restaurants in Chinatown serving both, so just pick one.

Food Court (Thai and other)

Image

For a cheap bite, head to the food court in one of the mega shopping centers.  The one in Siam Paragon is particularly good, as are the ones in MBK Centre and Big C.  You can easily find a good bowl of noodle soup for BHT 35, or around US$1.

Kanchana Rattanasueb (View Kanchana Rattanasueb's trips)
Authentic thai food is irresistable to try out. Recommend trying side-walk stall in China Town at night and order shark fin, bird nest, sea food is another menu. Central Bangkok is must-go. Luang suan is cool place to chill out for tasting several foods internationally. Do not miss these things.

Thailand is the land of smiles. I reccommend the maiden massage in the tower attached to the shangrila hotel 10th floor for traditional thai massage. Get two attendents for two hours, pure bliss & only $30. Try Bangkok retro for unbelievable thai food you won't find anywhere elese in Bangkok. Love the country and the people, leaving in feb. for more.
