Christmas Eve
We started our Christmas celebration by checking into the Sheraton in Arlington on Columbia Pike and then proceeded to the National Basilica for Midnight Mass.
The Basilica was packed and the service was wonderful. An international crowd and with EWTN broadcasting it globally it was an event to be sure.
The ceremony started with the carillion outside and then on to classic sacred music by Bach and finally into a candlelit procession for the start of Mass.
The Homily was excellent although the building did succeed in getting very warm with all the people and the mild winter weather.
If you are going to go arrive early, our you'll be standing or seated in the aisles.
