Getting to Verona from the states is never a direct affair. As such if you are trying to reach Verona directly be sure that whichever airline you are using checks your luggage all the way through.
We saw many instances along the way of folks that were forced to reclaim and then recheck their luggage at each stop.
Air travel now days is stressful enough, don't make it anymore stressful then needed by having to monkey with that scenario.
My dad's friends own the Pizzeria Ristorante Liston. He met them while he was stationed in Italy in the 60's, and stayed in touch over the years. I'm named after one of the sisters, Santina (my middle name), and finally got to go to Italy, meet Santina, and eat at the restaurant when our family took a trip in 1991. I'd love to go back to Italy.
It was hands down our favorite restaurant while in town. It's funny because many people have said that the Veronese are cold compared to other Italian cities.
I can say that we found that to be so untrue, Verona was in many ways the most Italian, not being spoiled but too many tourists.
What a great trip! I can't say i would ever have gone to those cities, but it looks just as amazing as the rest of the country. I hope to make it back to Italy in the next couple years and will definetly try to venture out from just Rome/Venice/Florence.
