I started off my day pretty early from Kansas City. Started driving east-ward at 6:45 AM and got to be in St Louis at about 10:15 AM. I wasn't expecting to get there so early (Google estimate was 4 hrs ++). I was glad I got there so early and it happened the Fox Theatre was a having their weekly tour on Saturday starting at 10:30 AM. Ticket was $7 and it was totally worth it. The interior of the theatre is amazing. There were cravings on the wall, ceilings, stage ... blending cultures from different part of the world. There's only 2 or 3 of these types of theatre left in the US. Totally worth it!
Next I head straight to Anheuser-Busch brewery. The tour is free. Get to see how they produce beers. Three National Heritage Sites in the brewery ... pretty impressive. Best of all, you get to sample 2 half pint of beers in the end of the tour. Upon completion of the tour, I drove a short distant to the Gateway Arch. The arch looks so much better in reality than any picture I have seen. I bought the $10 ticket to take the elevator up the arch. There was also free museum underneath the arch. It was quite an amazing experience to see the arch. It was in awe.
Also, I went across the street to pay a visit to the Old Court House. You can learn some history about St Louis in the museum. To me, there was nothing special about it unless you are really into MO or St Louis history. Good placec to take pic of the Gateway Arch though. Moreoever, I was pretty tired by then. I went to check in to my hotel right after this.
My hotel was pretty close to Union Station. Took a quick tour there then drove to the University Loop for dinner. Pretty hype place to be.
** Warning. There will be a long line before getting in to the arch due to the security check point. So, give yourseld ample time to get in if you pruchased ur ticket online.**
