Our Hotel - Best Western Roundhouse, South End area

ImageThis is our hotel - it was used as a gas tank in the 1800's, which explains its round shape. It was not a bad location at all.  It was a 10 minute, $10 cab ride to Back Bay and Copely Square. A subway line was about 10 blocks away. The staff were really helpful and very nice. The hotel  itself was also nice - clean and well-kept.  One of the best parts was the free  shuttle service they offer - they will drop you off and pick you up pretty much anywhere between the hotel and Back Bay.  They also had a decent, free breakfast, with a make-your-own-waffle station.

We come on the sloop John B
My grandfather and me
Around Nassau town we did roam
Drinking all night
Got into a fight
Well I feel so broke up
I want to go home

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up
I wanna go home

The first mate he got drunk
And broke in the Cap'n's trunk
The constable had to come and take him away
Sheriff John Stone
Why don't you leave me alone, yeah yeah
Well I feel so broke up I wanna go home

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go home
(Hoist up the John B's sail)
Hoist up the John B
I feel so broke up I wanna go home
Let me go home

The poor cook he caught the fits
And threw away all my grits
And then he took and he ate up all of my corn
Let me go home
Why don't they let me go home
This is the worst trip I've ever been on

So hoist up the John B's sail
See how the mainsail sets
Call for the Captain ashore
Let me go home, let me go home
I wanna go home, let me go home
Why don't you let me go

Thanks for your insight. We were planning a trip to Boston, but we may go to NY instead. It sounds like there may be more to do in NY and Paul Revere's house was one of my main planned stops as well. It's a shame they did not preserve more of the entire area around his house. Great writing. thx

Thanks for your thoughts. I think we'll also stop at the Sam Adams Brewery.

I was planning a trip end of Sept to Boston (3 days) then to NYC (3 days). Any suggestion for hotel in NYC (reasonable and near Times Square). The ones that my travel agent offered (from the reviews on the internet), was not very good.

Great page, I really like your writing style and insight. Saw some places I didn't get to and now I have a reason to visit again!

I would never want to visit Boston. Too many rude people.
