Day 1: MGM Grand and Beyond

Hello?! Where else would a Best Man plan a bachelor party but Las Vegas? But, here’s the catch, most of us had wives and girlfriends that wanted to go too. Since we were all buddies from college and some of us hadn’t seen each other in awhile, we decided to make the trip a four-day free-for-all. I even let the women come. Although, before boarding the plane, the women had to sign a contract that they would not bother us men from 8 pm – 11 am, that the men got at least two dinners without any estrogen and that there would be no womanly kvetching on the trip.

ImagePer my wife’s request, we all stayed at the MGM Grand . The entire inside had been redone and the rooms and gaming floor were posh and trendy (or so my wife said). My favorite part? This upscale bar called Rouge. It was open 24 hours and the bartender made one mean Tom Collins. The dealers at the MGM Grand were really friendly too. The boys and I played Roulette there a lot longer than planned. But what can I say, when you’re on a hot streak, you gotta stay! We used our winnings from that night to buy tickets to the Cirque du Soleil show KA . The women weren’t too impressed with the show. But, the guys and I loved it. There was a ton of martial arts fighting and action.

After seeing the early showing of KA, we started the “real” night out with a fancy dinner at RM Seafood  at Mandalay Bay . The raw bar, especially their oysters were outstanding. The service and décor was top-notch too. After the formalities were out of the way, the boys and I got down to business- the drinking business that is. Of course, a bachelor party wouldn’t be complete without seeing a topless show- Fantasy . Holy cow, were those women HOT! Meanwhile, the women all went to Rumjungle night club at Mandalay Bay . My wife said the girls had a great time- there was a large dance floor, a few poles to dance on and this huge tower of rum that went all the way to the ceiling.

Wow! Cool trip. I'm planning a bachelor party for my best friend and this really helped. Definitely planning on checking out that nightclub at Luxor and that Craftsteak place.

Whatever Dave... you know the women totally ruled on this trip! You forgot to mention the Bellagio Fountains and Fine Art Gallery. Or were those things not manly enough for you, haha :)

All kidding aside, the trip turned out great... kudos!

I am planning a Bachelor Party for my brother-in-law in April, and if this format works..I can save myself a whole lotta headaches.
