2005 Peru

-         To kill time until the flight to Cuzco , took walk along the Pacific Ocean in San Miguel neighborhood in Lima and saw the beach/garbage dump. 

-         Lima airport has McDonalds, Dunkin Donuts, and a PapaJohns….

-         Arrive in Cuzco

-         Everyone wants to take our picture….Locals hand Brian their babies for photo ops.

-         Walk through open market and had “Peruvian Jamba Juice” – rows of ladies with blenders and fruit trying to lure you to their juice stand by using Peruvian National Enquirer-like tabloids with pictures of scantilied clad women on them

-         Animals are everywhere, meat hangs in the open dry and hot air, and cheese is left out all day

-         Walked to the Mall…we now know where all the surplus of 1970’s good have gone

-         Garbage trucks have large Blues Brother-like speaker on them and plays ice cream man collipe music…kids do chase them like the ice cream man, but they throw garbage into the truck

-         Tried to climb to Cristo Blanco, but wound up at a church where we played with 2 little girls and their sheep…got kisses from “Peruvian Jane”

-         Saw Peruvian Chinese drgaon/llama parade
