We are going to Maui for the forth time from MI. We love it there so much. It is the most wonderful place on earth. The sights are breathtaking. We go there during whale season when they come down from Alaska to berth there babies in the warm waters of Hawaii. I wish we could move there.

My first time on Maui was in 1974. I am an artist and in 1988 I came to Maui to work for 6 months and I have tried leaving 3 times since then. Since so many people come and go so it takes 5 years before the local people will give you any real respect, if Maui likes then you they will like you. Maui is magical, it's the land of instant Karma and it's a very very expensive place to live. If Maui wants you to stay it will support you and you won't be able to leave and if you do leave it won't be for long before it reels you back in. If Maui doesn't want you to stay and you move here it will break you and send you back home. Life is too short take a chance...

Been to Maui 31 times from 1986 to 1998! It's truly one of my favorite spots on earth. We have friends that live there & run a stable w/horseback rides. We also have friends that are native so we know the isle extremely well w/all the "ins & outs" of making Maui an affordable vacation. Yes, there are ways to do just that.
