The Lakes are getting together again for a week in the sun to celebrate Robin's 65th. We found a place where kids and adults alike can go crazy doing outdoor activities and relaxing, and where those with work obligations can pop in when it pleases them!

Lake Family at Punta Cana Resort and Club

Well, it was another extremely successful trip with the entire Lake family, and we all congregated on the happy, quiet expanse of the Punta Cana Resort and Club, which we'd happily recommend to other travellers looking for a great spot for the whole family. The occassion was Grandma Robin's 65th birthday, and we took advantage of the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend in the US to help stretch those vacation days. It was a week full of sunshine, good food, fruitie drinks and activities, although some were able to

squeeze in the occasional nap or Cuban cigar.

The resort was perfect for our group, with nice quiet villas for us to relax in and lots of great food to choose from. We had 2 and 3 bedroom villas right beside each other on the beach. Such a great set up! Each had a living area for multi-purpose use - including toy storage, "cap-on" beer drinkage, and adhoc yoga sessions.

Am going to Occidental Punta Cana in feb. also - my in-laws went a few years ago, and liked it so much they are going again. Heard from them it was great -

Planning to go to SIRENIS COCOTAL BEACH RESORT CASINO & SPA in June. How is the hotel? Really a 4 star?

Going to punta cana occidental punta cana for 4 days in feb. heard it is a great place and food is good. Anyone heard about this place?

Went for a week with 4 other couples last Feb. Weather and beaches were fabulous ..... but the food and drinks were sub-par at best. And everyone in our party got some type of bug that put us out for a day or two. Probably wouldn't go back.

Week before X-mas was excellent. Hurricane season was over, x-mas crowd wasn't landed yet. No mosquitoes yet.. Riu Palace.

I am planning a trip to the Sirenis Tropical in Punta Cana over Christmas with my 19 yr old daughter...I hear it's a great resort...last Christmas was in Puerto Plata at the Coral Marien and it was great....but I hear the beaches are nicer in Punta Cana...would appreciate any input or advice......thank you in advance.
