The Lakes are getting together again for a week in the sun to celebrate Robin's 65th. We found a place where kids and adults alike can go crazy doing outdoor activities and relaxing, and where those with work obligations can pop in when it pleases them!

Lake Family at Punta Cana Resort and Club

Well, it was another extremely successful trip with the entire Lake family, and we all congregated on the happy, quiet expanse of the Punta Cana Resort and Club, which we'd happily recommend to other travellers looking for a great spot for the whole family. The occassion was Grandma Robin's 65th birthday, and we took advantage of the 4 day Thanksgiving weekend in the US to help stretch those vacation days. It was a week full of sunshine, good food, fruitie drinks and activities, although some were able to

squeeze in the occasional nap or Cuban cigar.

The resort was perfect for our group, with nice quiet villas for us to relax in and lots of great food to choose from. We had 2 and 3 bedroom villas right beside each other on the beach. Such a great set up! Each had a living area for multi-purpose use - including toy storage, "cap-on" beer drinkage, and adhoc yoga sessions.

It was not inexpensive, but certainly in range with what you would expect for a luxury resort, and cheaper than the Club Med down the road...

Had a very nice time in Punta Cana. Did the all inclusive, adults only thing and got to swim with dolphins, kayak, play volleyball and tennis, hang out in/by the topless pool/bar. Was very relaxing and the staff and food was excellent. The other amusement was seeing uptight americans come and flirt with going topless or not.
All in all, a nice getaway for the price, just time it so you better your odds of avoiding a hurricane.

We're going to Punta Cana in late Oct. '07. Has anyone been there at that time of year? I'm kind of afraid of the hurricane situation. We've never been there before.

We are going to Punta Cana in early May for our honeymoon. Since I'm going to be on vacation and "away" from it all.....Can I go topless at the beaches? We are staying at an all-inclusive resort. When I went to Cancun everyone at the Rui was topless (some Europeans even walked around the resort all natural).

I am usually not a nudist however, when in Rome......so......is topless cool?
