We attended a wedding at the Historic Crescent Hotel. Very beautiful place. Supposed to be haunted per several documentaries which have been recorded there.
On Saturday, we headed up from Little Rock and went the pig trail (AR -65) up North. We stopped at Devil's Den State Park. We do a lot of hiking and caving in AR, so we can safely say that the cave at Devil's Den wasn't worth it. There was no water in the waterfall (very sad, I love waterfalls, but what did I expect in August?), so we felt as if it was a waste of time. The cave was nasty and smelled horrible. Too many people and too much trash, very sad. I saw no bats, I am happy to report.
We got to Eureka Springs and stated at the Super 8 Motel which cost $55 for one night. There are good reviews on Yahoo, and that's why I chose it. I didn't feel as if it was very clean. My husband HATED IT. Oh, well. The pool was nice, though.
We ate at Bubba's on Sat night and it was fantastic! I highly recommend it. I had the pulled pork sandwich and potato salad. Good stuff. It was about $30 for three people.
The next day we chose to do some sightseeing by first visiting downtown for breakfast at, I believe, Main Street Cafe. It was excellent and wonderful food, highly recommend it. We then visited, Christ of the Ozarks, which is so HUGE and magnificent. St. Elizabeth's Catholic Church was an awesome sight. Very ornate and modeled after a temple in Istanbul , Turkey .
It started raining badly, so we headed home. It was a nice weekend and we're glad we got to go! you succeeded
