ATL n' Sk8 A Thon

2 Plane trips and I arrived to ATL (Hartsfield Airport) from San Jose, CA. Awaiting me, was my brother and roll dawg Saleeta. I took a mighty long time from the plane to baggage claim for two reasons. The first, was becuase I was happily talking on my working Ghettro (Metro phone) and second becuase they had wonderful African sculptures and art to look at on the way...and well to add on a third reason becuase I didn't take the tram!

After meeting my peoples we first went to go check in our hotel, the Hampton Midtown. It took us a minute to get there being that we mistakenly thought the Hampton Downtown was the Hampton Midtown (the right hotel). And it was a scare too because when I went to go check in at the first they told me that the Hampton Midtown had closed! With patience and a phone call. I found out that they close Thursday. Oh well about them closing becuase we leave the hotel on Thursday and I got an extra special rate on the room anyway.Hampton Inn Midtown, despite it closing on Thursday was a fully functioning hotel. The room is cool and the staff is as well. After settling in Don, Saleeta, and I heading out to Skate Zone for our first night of skating.

Skate Zone, Morrow, GA had a nice crowd and only cost $3.00 dollars! It had a large wood floor with no walls. The the DJ kept it mostly dark for with black lights for the night and played hip-hop music too! Which at our home rink we hardly ever get at our Adult sessions! There was one injury. There ambulance took awhile to get there. We couldn't believe that it happened with such a small crowd. Our rink we have people fall and injured all the time but the crowd is big. Also in the crowd was a lot more young people. Our crowd is more in their 30's. My krewe and I met some of the older people that was there. They were tres cool. This was my second time at this rink. Last year it was the rink for the first night of Joi's skate a thon! Some see it plain, but to me its like a historical landmark in my skate life, but I can get more into that later.

After skating we dropped off Ms. Saleeta at her brother's house and headed back to the hotel. Saleeta so kindly let us use her car. My brother and I then went to get junk at the Shell station, ate, and fell a sleep. Well I called my boyfriend too!
