Summer Week in Seattle

Mon 08/14/06 (day 1)

Settling In ...

First things first ...

Arrived in Seattle at around 1:30 pm. Got the rental car and we're on our way to Seattle! We stopped by somewhere (actually we make a wrong turn) and hanged out for a bit at a starbucks place and got something to eat. Finally arrived at the hotel and checked in! The hotel look pretty good ... lots of construction around the area though ...

Stopped by Pacific Place to pick up the GoSeattle card. Nice shopping mall. Will need to stop by some other time! The lady at the concierge recommended Cutters for dinner, so now we know where to get food!

We walked to Pike Market place (< 1 mile) and got a first look at Pike Market Place!
Looks interesting. The fresh seafood looks really yummy. We bough some fresh/organic fruits. Definitely need to go back again. Best time to go is in the morning ...

Found Cutters! It's pretty close to the park off of Pike Market. Food was very good! The dessert was awesome (chocolate).

Stopped by a deli on the way back to the hotel to get some necessities (water, wine, etc).

Saw the first StarBucks. Looks small and quaint. Need to stop by some other time
and check it out!

You ate breakfast at the Portage Cafe near the University of Washington, GO HUSKIES! Never to be confused with Washington University.

The Science musuem is the Pacific Science Center, a great place to take school field trips. It's all about learning, nothing fiction about it and definitely not an amusement park. I don't know what the kids expected, sorry they weren't impressed.

Glad you enjoyed our fair city, though.

Nice trip! You really can't go wrong with Washington state. I live in Virginia, and have been to Seattle and environs many times. I gather you are from San Francisco area...that's a nice area, too!!

It will be fun a trip to Minneapolis to see my bestfriend CECI and also to join her friend from India and from other parts of the world and also to see place in United States

Glad you got to visit my old stomping grounds....it is a good intro, but you'd need more time poking around the cascades, going up to Victoria, Vancover, etc....If your family is the outdoors-type, you may want to come back!
