Yee SoCal 2k6

I'm on my way!  I plan to visit LA with a breadth-first heuristic and not really get too in depth, mostly driving or riding around the tourist traps and not walking around too much.  Hence, this is going to truly be a tour of California's first impressions/public relations/facade. 

Trip goals:
- See how my sister lives *the life*
- Meet up with cousins Karissa, Jen, and Vaughn/Tracy
- Enjoy the kickass wedding and reunite with college buds
- Visit UCI and see the new buildings/construction

Late to LA due to radar failure, then on ground extra for lack of gates.  Undermanned AVIS buses and customer service reps made me wait another hour.  Got to USC around 0230 instead of 1215.  Might as well get all the bad stuff out of the way first :P

Hit the Bay Cities deli for the awesome Godmother Hoagie with the works --kickass food, I love a good deli :)  Afterward, went to SD to shop for some clothes at Fashion Valley.  Fashion Valley is a beautiful outdoor mall that was well-planned and filled with the standard stores you find at any other mall.

Ate and drank at the Waterfront in SD's Little Italy, which served Fat Tire beer, a personal favorite.  Pretty sweet sportsbar with HD and outdoor seating, made even better with the company of cousin Jen.  And then, a looong drive back to LA.
