Travel day
Nearly 6 months of planning and off we go. My wife as chief driver and myself as navigator make a good team. I did forget to mention that I had read that left turns are nearly impoosible in San francisco. Oops. Hard knox learning.
We bi-passed the Mel's Diner on Van Ness due to lack of parking and opted for the Mel's on Geary. Enjoyed the retro 50's and the sour dough hot dog.
Followed Lincoln Blvd. through the Presideo to Fort Point. The fort is even more impressive from atop the Golden Gate Bridge.
Captured a glimpse of the cemetery within the Presideo. Doubled back for a closer look and was moved by the fallen buried on the slope.
Checked in at the Argonaut by 7p. Retired early in hopes of beating the jet leg.
