San Diego

After months of anticipation we finally left on our vacation on Mar 18, 2007.  Our flight arrived in San Diego just before noon, by the time we got situated in our rental car we were starved.  Stopped at a local fast food for lunch & then headed out to Cabrillo National Monument/Point Loma Light House.  We spent the afternoon hiking & exploring there.  The light house was beautiful.  It was a little over cast but the view was still beautiful.  Headed back to find the hotel around 5pm.  After checking orded in from local delivery & crashed after our long day of traveling.

Since the trip was all about my Mom, it was her birthday trip, I let her decide our schedule.  Monday , Mar 19th, We spent the entire day at Seaworld.  Mom loved it, & so did I.  We are both really kids at heart so we had a wonderful time seeing all the shows.  We were disappointed that several attractions were closed including the journey to atlantis, but we still had a great time.

Tues Mar 20, we decided to head out to the Wild Animal Park in Escondido.  We had a really nice day walking around the park.  We didn't see as many animals as we had hoped, but the park is really beautiful & was definately worth seeing.

Weds March 21, Mom's Birthday, we spent the day at the Zoo.  I have loved Zoo's since I was a little girl.  Some of my earliest memories are of my Mom taking me to the zoo, so it was a special day to enjoy this wonderful zoo with her. 

Thurs Mar 22, we actually went back to Seaworld today, we had purchased a 5 day value pass for the 3 parks & Mom was anxious to go back & see Shamu again.  Today we spent more time exploring the exhibits & shopping & only seeing a few shows.

Fri Mar 23, we decided to go back & spend another day at the zoo today.  We had had such a good time on Weds but felt there was a lot we had missed.  We had a great time seeing the rest of the zoo but ended up going back to the hotel mid afternoon due to my illness.  All the activity of the week had caught up to me & sinse I was still not functioning at 100% we decided to go back to the hotel & rest up.

Sat Mar 24, we were both anxious to hit the beach, the weather had been really overcast early in the week but today was sunny & beautiful.  We drove out to Pacific Beach mid morning & spent most of the day.  We had a great time, neither one of us are really swimmers but we had a great time wading in the water & walking up & down the beach & people watching.  We go back to the hotel exhausted & a little sunburned.  All in all it was a perfect end to our vacation.
