We arrived at the Westin in Downtown Pittsburgh on Friday night around 9:00 p.m. Because of the ballgame, traffic was a mess. After settling in, my husband and I decided to talk a walk around to find a place to grab a beer. We walked about 1.5 miles over to Station Square and ended up at a little country western bar with good beer specials and a huge dance floor. I'm not a dancer myself, but I love to people watch and drink! We spent about 4 good hours drinking, laughing, meeting new people and riding a mechanical bull! We opted to walk back to the hotel to help us sober up.
Saturday morning we got up early because I wanted to walk down to the open air market. It was cool and rainy, but the market is really neat. We ended up grabbing a cheap, but filling breakfast at a "hole in the wall" before continuing our sight seeing venture around Pittsburgh. We walked and walked and walked some more and covered the entire city, plus the two incline areas. We got back to the hotel just in time to change our clothes and head to PNC Park for the Reds/Pirates game. The stadium is gorgeous, though some of the fans are rednecks and tried to pick a fight with us because we are Reds fans. Oh well...just part of the game.
I absolutely loved Pittsburgh and definitely plan on going back for another weekend trip.
