Insanity! That's what this trip to Thailand was. Mostly good, some bad but all insane. In the old days, you invited your friends over for a slide show (my dad did this). The internet has certainly made sharing a trip a bit easier. Now we can invite people over to our "slide show" and they don't have to leave their house--or, as I suspect some of you are reading this at work, their office.
I've decided (good or bad) to put my journal online with the photos. And in order to share the moments, I've decided to type it in as is--no editing. So except for the correction of facts or spelling, this online journal is as I wrote it during the week in Thailand. There are some interjections where I have condensed some of the writing into a one day entry instead of several sentences over several days and there are a few points where I do insert the perspective of the whole trip in. I hope those moments are clear enough. However, the bulk of the text is what I wrote at the time, usually before going to bed.
I am surprised and flattered that people would read/look at this journal--even before I am finished building it. I hope that you check back over the next week (maybe a month) to view the finished product.
p.s. The Flickr website, which does the photos, will only let you upload so many photos a month. I reached my September limit and will upload the rest in October, 2006--for those who would like to see the rest of the photos.
p.p.s. If you 'view' the photos themselves, rather than just look at the photos in the journal entry, they are a little bit larger. Plus, not every photo is in the journal.
