Traveling To Palau
To get there you can take Continental via Guam or Asian (Spirit?) via the Philippines.
The trip from Guam took about 3 hours and was pretty bumpy as the weather in the area was cloudy and rainy.
We arrived at about 8:30pm. Once you get to Palau you land in their airport shaped like an Abai (local meeting house). It is pretty much open air but some areas are starting to be airconditioned.
Since there were a lot of us coming for the 2006 PEC conference and staying at the same hotel, we were provided transportation from the airport. It was great to be met at the airport by a Welcoming committee who showered us with shell leis and a schedule of events for the conference.
Right from the start you are greeted by the island people who make you feel welcome and comfortable.
