Arrival We arrived in Chicago at at 1:45pm- earlier than scheduled. We then met up with Stephanie's friend Mina who attends the School of the Art Institude of Chicago, who we were staying with in Chicago. She lives right off the red line at the Belmont stop. We got a seven day pass to ride the el and rode to her place and dropped our stuff off. It was easier than I thought to ride the el except for the fact that I had to carry both the suitcases when we hit stairs two times. The weather in Chicago was not perfect the first day, in fact it was very cloudy. But we were excited to see downtown looming in the distance.
Duckwalk![Image]()
We went to a Thai restaurant called Duckwalk, right by the Belmont stop. It's one of Mina's favorites and we like it too. We ordered Crab Rangoon for an appetizer. They were very good with crab meat, cream cheese type mixture inside of a crispy wanton. For our meals I ordered the Thai Green Curry which happens to be one of my favorites. I love curry and could order it everytime. It was a little spicy but you can have them adjust the heat. The flavor was very good. Steph ordered the Thai Red Curry which is a little sweeter but also very delicious. I would recommend Duckwalk to anyone, especially if you are in the area.
We then attempted to hurry downtown to make our Arictecture River boat tour, but were too late. The weather was not the best so I was kind of glad that we missed the river cruise. But since we were downtown we decided to stroll down Magnificent Mile and take a look at some of what Chicago had to offer. We stopped by Millenium Park. As the weather got worse and it started to drizzle we decided to head back to Mina's for the day.
Le Creperie ![Image]()
We decided to have dinner at Le Creperie located at 2845 North Clark Street Chicago, Illinois 60657. It is also one of Mina's favorite restraunts in the area.
The crepes were wonderful and we ate there late and there was still a crowd seems very popular with the locals. We ordered a curry crepe and a banana's fosters type crepe called Bananas Sara with vanilla icecream. Both were very good and the waitstaff was also very friendly. If you like crepes I would recommend this restraunt if not I would try another place because although they have other options they specialize in crepes.
Friendly,Rox.

There use to be a great restraunt above Ann Klien that you entered from the side street. Sure hope it is still there and a pizza joint near the American Girl Store it is on Mag. Mile, set back off the main road, and was yummy.
