Departed Baltimore at 9:30 a.m. and arrived in Atlanta at 11:30 a.m. We had a three hour layover, but I didn't mind. The concourses at the Atlanta airport are rather far apart and it's rare that you fly into the same concourse from which you need to fly out. So, we took the underground subway to the correct concourse, and then ate lunch. We ate at the Sam Adams Brewhouse. My friend had a hamburger. I had a turkey and provelone wrap and a lager. Departed Atlanta at 2:30 p.m. and arrived in to Chattanooga at 3:30 p.m. We caught the free hotel shuttle to the Hampton Inn on Shallowford Dr. My cousin and his family came and picked us up around 6 p.m. and we went to eat at Famous Dave's. I got the beef brisket over salad greens. My friend got a pulled pork sandwich with baked beans and a baked potato. My 4 year old cousin got chicken tenders. I don't remember what my cousin and his wife got, but I think they got meat sampler plates. We shared vanilla ice cream and a chocolate brownie for dessert (the desserts there are huge). After dinner, we went to their house and met the dogs and I played with my young cousin for a little while. I had not been feeling well since soon after lunch and the big dinner didn't sit well with me, so we went to the hotel soon thereafter. In retrospect, I have come to the conclusion that something at the Sam Adam's Brewhouse made me sick. My friend shared part of my sandwich and he didn't get sick, so I don't think it was that. The beer I got was a draft beer, so maybe the keg lines were yucky or maybe the glass was soapy or something.
Rob Kemp: Thanks for your comment. You're right that I wasn't very clear.... The train ride we took was just a short, tourist thing, not a commuter line. Sorry for the confusion.
Queen Midas: Thanks for your comment. I have always thought of people searching Yahoo! Trips for places they want to go in the future. It puts a different spin on things to think that people search for info about where they went in the past (and may or may not return to in the future).
Sammies Place: I think you should jump in your car and go!
Mrd: Let me know if you take that trip. I hope to read your travelogue about it!
Alli: Thanks! I haven't really thought about vacations as "fulfilling." It will be fun to think about that for a while.
