Travel from Tulsa to Asheville, NC.
Started at 5:15 a.m. We weren’t sure if the beach house had pillows and we had brought only 2 for the 3 of us, but we decided to chance it instead of turning back for more. We ran into rain all through Arkansas but otherwise the weather was fine. We had lots of truck traffic which was very frustrating since they think they own the road. We had packed a cooler with beverages and sandwiches so the only time we stopped was for gas and during gas stops we took care of personal needs. We made excellent time and arrived in Asheville at 7:00 p.m. The worst delays were in Knoxville, TN, where they were doing a lot of construction on the interstate and we were there during after work rush hour. All the other major cities we hit outside of rush hour traffic. I watched “The Horse Whisperer” which I really enjoyed but I didn’t get to see the last half hour until the trip home. Jessica watched “Madea’s Family Reunion” which she thought was hilarious. She also set up my Zen micro with music. Gary didn’t get tired at all. The Sleep Inn faced the Smokey Mountains.
Highlight of the Day: Going through the Smokey Mountains
