New York Visit in June

Travel Day...Red Eye to NYC
Me and my Girlfriend have decided to visit New York City for a recreational visit in late June this year (2006). My Girlfriend has already visited NYC about 5 years ago (1 week before 911) as part of her work assignments. I am looking foward to the NYC trip because it will be my first trip to NYC. Yippee. My goal for the trip is to visit the most recognizable New York landmarks and experience the City.
We have put some careful planning in place to utilize all of our 6 days in NYC. The , planning relied heavily on searching the internet for information about hotels and information about popular attractions. We also bought some visitor's guide books from the book store. We created a schedule on a door in our kitchen using post-it notes. A row of post-its at the top of the schedule represtented the days (Wed, Thur, Frid...etc) while the column along the edge of the door represented the time of day (Morning, Mid-Morning....etc). We placed events (each on a post-it) in this matrix. This allowed for a good visual of when events will take place (Day and time of day). Also allows for easy rearrangement of the schedule to accomadate changes.
Day 1 is travel day. We decided to take a red-eye Jet Blue flight from Sacramento to JFK. Surprisingly this flight is direct and takes only 4.5 hours. This flight arrived at JFK just before 8 am the next day (Day 2). We deliberately chose this type of flight because we wanted to take full advantage of our arrival day in New York . The flight was bumpy and I tried very hard to sleep ...or approximate sleep. The flight felt longer than the 4.5 hours
