Our glorious vacation began with a very long flight! We took the red-eye leaving Pdx at Midnight to arrive in PV 11:30am on Wednesday. We had several delays and had to get off one plane to board another at one point. Eventually we made it into PV about 2:00pm. The airport in Puerto Vallarta was simple. I don't know, but I half expected delays, chaos and pesky timeshare sharks. Fortunately, it all went so smoothly for us! I had ok'd the Hacienda to pre-arrange a driver for us. It was the best thing I could have done and it basically set the tone for our vacation of being "taken care of". As soon as we passed the red light/green light station (green light for us!) we walked thru and immediately saw a lovely young lady holding up a VIP sign with my name on it! She whisked us into an office where another young lady greeted us with a smile and handed us two ice-cold water bottles. It was greatly appreciated on such a hot day in PV. They took our luggage, I paid $20 bucks, and a friendly young man loaded us up & drove us in a nice clean, air-conditioned car to the place we'd call paradise for the week!
Driving into town, we were amazed at how much Puerto Vallarta has changed since our last trip. The cab driver was friendly and informative. He pointed out new projects, and made restaurant, night life, and tour recommendations as well.
We drove up into the renowned winding, cobblestone streets in Puerto Vallartas southside, right off the Malecon. The location was great!
