Cabin Checkin and Ripleys Aquarium
Arrived Timber Tops Cabin checkin around noon. Cabin not available yet. Instructed to call every hour until available. Drove around to learn the area. Had to take an alternate route to avoid heavy traffic to Pigeon Forge. Cozy Bears View cabin available after 4:PM. HOT - Air conditioner was frozen up. Waited several hours to have it repaired.
After setteling in, traveled to Gatlinburg. 1st stop, Ripleys Aquarium. OK but if you've seen one, you've seen them all I suppose. Myrtle Beach Aquarium may be better.
Heavy rain after Ripleys, back to the cabin!

We also spent the same "kind of time" there at Easter,2006.Reservations in Downtown G'burg.arrived in a.m.,couldn't check in,park car,use pool,give 2yr old nap,etc til 4:00. Decided to go to aquarium,which we liked,then lunch(not exciting)I think the late check=in is a town plan to get people there for a whole day with no where to go but stick around town and try to find something to spend your $$$. Not much exciting in Gatlinburg. Dollywood is GREAT !
