Sat 05/27/06 (day 3)

New Journal Entry

This was probably the best night of our trip. We had breakfast at Shula's and took a cruise on the Jungle Queen Riverboat. My husband went back to the hotel to finish an assignment, and I walked along the beach collecting sea shells for our 2 year old son, Emmanuel. We had dinner at Mango's Tropical Cafe and we to club B.E.D. We arrived in FLL just in time to sit on the beach and watch the sun rise over the Atlantic.

Well, it's the first day of our trip and our plans were shot!! First, we left our cc at home, so could not reserve our car, our hotel, until we got in touch w/ family. Our hotel, the Ask Me Inn, was wonderful and let us check in before 2pm. We immediately cleaned up and fell asleep. When we awoke, I realized I was in the midst of a migraine. So, I had a cup of coffee and we ordered some food (my husband decided to begin his schoolwork). But, that's not all. As my husband was finishing his egg drop soup, he felt ill and threw up in the bathroom. He's now laying on one bed hunched over sick to his stomach. I was on the second bed w/ the pillow over my face trying to keep light from shining on my face. This is totally unbelievable!!!! But we are not giving up. This day is NOT going to define our trip. Tomorrow will be much brighter....I hope...........

Friday & Saturday was great. The drive from FLL to MIA was about 25 minutes, so we went clubbing on Ocean Drive. It was Black Beach Week, so we were glad we stayed in the FLL hotel. It was pretty rowdy even during the day.

Thanks for sharing your world regarding FLL. My wife and I are visiting later this week and we want to explore the city prior to going on a cruise to celebrate our anniversary. I gather by the name you are of AA descendent and so am I. It's nice getting a perspective from cocoa side. Again, thanks for sharing,
