Well on day 1 I got off work and picked up the Family at my mom's. We drove to the rental yard in Hayward and picked up the 32' Nap Wagon (more on this later). We got on the road at 12:45pm and were Eastbound and down.
We headed south to Bakersfield on I-5, then east on 58 to I-15. We took on fuel in Barstow (46 Gals) and kept headin' east. We got to Baker and turned North on 127 and started up to Death Valley. First I had to get a tasty Gyros at The Mad Greek, Mmmm. After going about another 60 miles we turned West on 178 and went another 10 or so miles where there was a nice wide spot in the road at the park entrance. I set the brake, engaged the jacks, slid out the slideout, and we slept. I opted to sleep on top of the rig and enjoyed an incredibly beautiful night sky. I thought I had it nice up where we live, but wow is it clear there. The time 1:30am.
