A Southern Charm Packer
Summary:
Atlanta, as a huge city, has hundreds of homeless people, I went for a walk for 7 blocks and found more than 20 homeless along the way...they asked for money, coffee or just cigarrettes politely. Some even just wanted to tell their stories. I got to chat with a couple of them. (And I found Djarum cigarrettes on a shop here in Atlanta! and DC, of course Image

Basically Southern is so beautiful, just like the movie Gone With The Wind & Scarlett O'Hara...
In Atlanta and Charleston met lots of college students on Spring Break and I kinda make friends with them.ImageImageso nice being around young people,it makes me believe that I'm back at college and we are invincible and that we can do whatever we want!!!
(Somebody, please remind me that I'm 28 and in 2 years I'll be 30 and it's about time that I should be acting like my age, please...Image)
But, like Rhett Butler said," Frankly, my dear, I don't give a damn." Image
age ain't nothing but a number, I'm sure loats of you will agree on this, he3x...

Southern US is slightly poorer than East Coast (DC, NY)& West Coast (California) area, & they have Southern accent just like in those movies. Although poor, people are so kind&friendly and the cities are so green, especially Savannah& Charleston. Wooden houses in rainbow colors...felt like I was put on a movie scene of small town-life movies. Again&again, I got help from people, just completely golden-hearted strangers. Image

My journey- all by bus (cheaper and more challenging)
  • DC - Atlanta  bus Greyhound 17 hours
  • Atlanta - Charleston 7 hours
  • Charleston - Savannah 6 hours
  • Savannah - Orlando 9 hours
  • Orlando - Miami 8 hours
From Southern charm, i moved to the warmer state of Florida: Orlando with the Disney World (only had time to go to Magic Kingdom, and not all 4 parks: 1 park takes 1 day to see!!!Image) and Sea World Image. Disney's magic Kingdom is awesome and I wish I were still a kid having this trip: Mickey, Daisy, Stitch, Cinderella, Dumbo...ImageImage
The ride that I like is "It's A Small World" where we take a boat to go into the tunnels where they have dolls of children from all over the world singing "It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all..." Kinda make me feel that we are all the same, taht all people in the world should be hand in hand, singing "It's a small world after all, it's a small world after all..." Imagethat song is still lingering on my mindImageuntil way after I finished the ride...

Quite surprising, Orlando is full of Thai's and Philipinos, and of course Latinos (US actually has a second language, unofficially but eve'where: Spanish) Here in US if you make a call to a customer/public service of any kind, they'll go: "Para Espanol, marque dos..."-press 2 for Spanish. Some Latinos here can't even count 1-10 in English! Wow!

As my last stop,of course I had to see the party city of South Beach Miami. Spring Breakers were roaming the streets, girls dancing on top of cars (and bar tables, of course) Imageguys are loving it!!!
But, what we need 2 learn from America is that, however crazy people are acting, ev'thing is still under control -except if you got caught in the middle of a "gang-war", which I haven't experienced at all Image- (people are just having good time- no harm intended) and the streets of the partying spots are absolutely clean again the next morning- I proved this firsthand, cause I went out for a midnite walk - slept 3 hours- and went out for a morning walk again...streets were spotless once more.
Spent my time admiring the clean white sandy beach, next to rows of big hotels with stunning art deco...sunbathing near lifeguard post, trying to get some tan Image, and all too soon, I had to fly back to work...

Well, that's all folks, the story o'my Spring Break, started on a Saturday midnite, ended on a Saturday midnite too...Imageam a nocturnal...

I need to come home now and move on, cause who am I, but a memory collector?
and as Scarlett once said, " Tomorrow is another day..."
