Arrival day
The Doubletree doesn't fit the historic surroundings very well, but we were able to overlook this since it was very nice, right in the historic district, and gave a great view. Bistro Savannah was a nice place to eat and had a cool vibe, but was greatly overpriced. The food was good, just not $30 per plate good. Club One was supposed to be the hottest dance club in Savannah, I guess Sunday just isn't the night to go. There was hardly anybody there. We abandoned our tour of River Street later in the week to return. It had livened up some, but not much so I'm guessing the weekends must be their bread and butter.

We went to Savannah to attend a luau for a family member. I enjoyed Savannah. We had one problem. DO NOT stay in the Days Inn Oglethorpe Mall. It is one step short of being a roach motel. It had a terrible odor. The staff is not friendly at all. We reserved four rooms. We we arrived that night they gave my cousin a room filled with nasty blankets stacked high as the ceiling (no joke). When we checked in someone was at the front desk complaining about roaches. I couldn't get a good nights rest for being afraid of bedbugs. Other than that I really enjoyed Savannah. I enjoyed the River Walk. We plan to return in August to visit Tybee Island.
