My flight from New York to Barcelona was of no hassle. My flight flew from Madrid to Barcelona. There was a 1.5 hours lay over there. I think it was a good thing because the Madrid International Airport is great. The interior architecture is so beautiful and there was also tons of shops in there. Food is also in abundance. I left JFK at about 2 PM on Friday and reached Barcelona at about 9 AM in the morning on Iberia.
good choice of activities, but I would have also made a trip to Park Guell. I've brought several people there- everyone's favorite. If there is time, I also reccommend Salvador Dali's museum 2 hours out of Barcelona- in Figuera. It is not a boring museum- lots of interactive type artwork.
If i only have 6 days on the ground total, should we go to just Barcelona or split time between Barcelona and Madrid or another city? From the looks of this trip, Barcelona looks like it could fill 6 days pretty easily.
You saw more than i did and I was there for 3 days. I missed Parc Guell also. I spent too much time around the Ramblas area i think. Barcelona is beautiful and you took some great pics. I also recommend a day trip down to Sitges, which is about 30 min. south by train. It is a beautiful seaside town w/ great shops and restaurants and more history.
I am in a similiar situation... 5 days to spend in Spain toward the end of March. Plan on spending most in Barcelona. Where else should I go? How was the weather when you were there? Did you go to the beach and if so which one? Thanks
any cheap and good recommendations for accomodations that are suitable for backpack travellers???
thanks ;)
