First trip to Thailand impressions

I have to say it was a nice place to go, easy to stay on a budget and the "expensive" places I went to didn't seem worth the price. I enjoyed the local resturants which cost about $7 per person (250 Bahts). I was supprised that the whole ecomomy of the area was on tourism. You could actually go with no reservations and just a load of cash, exchange your money at the airport and have a great vacation. (Just read up before you go)

I live in Germany and would be flying from here from July 29 to Aug 5. What are the prices like? Could you give me a range more or less, of how much I need? I would NOT go first class.. ellen
