4.5 hours to Houston, 5.5 hours of book buying and airport exploration, and then 5.5 hours to Quito. We were happy to make it to our hotel, La Casa Sol, by 1 in the morning. At least the books were good!
I loved to read all about it, You guys were brave to go all the way up into the mountains, Did you go to Guayaquil? I had beautiful town try to visit it next time is only half an hour from Quito. Enjoy the beaches and the free falls on the shore. Easy conections to the Galapagos right on the sea level =) no breathing problems
It was a lot of fun, even if we did seriously underestimate how hard a 10 hour hike up a volcano might be. I'd totally do something like that again, although hopefully something a little more manageable, like rafting the Colorado river or sailing across the Atlantic!
We didn't make it to Guayaquil or to the Galapagos, both of which truly do sound wonderful, and clearly warrant another trip back to Ecuador. What a country! And what a soccer team! Go Ecuador.
Lastly, our next trip will indeed be to the beach, as Fiona has had enough discomfort on vacation to last the year. Watch out for our next trip to the Dominican Republic in November.
Ecuador rocks! You have to go to Banos next time, though- an absolute paradise about 3 hours south of quito. I love it so much i'm moving there for a year!!!
