Choose AJ's instead
We chose originally chose The Hunter House to eat at on Saturady because it was within walking distance from our condo, but we did  not make reservations.  It was booked for the next three hours.  While I'm guessing their food would have been good and priced as so, we were directed to a more "casual" dress place to eat.  Apparently, shorts and jeans are not acceptable.  The advice was great though, and A.J.'s was exactly what we were looking for.........great steak and seafood!!

I recently went to Savannah, GA and I thoroughly enjoyed. My friends and I also visited Tybee Island as well. We climed all 178 steps of the lighthouse and the homes there are really nice too. We stayed at the Marriott right on River Street and we could the container ships go by since Savannah is one of the United States' top 5 shipping ports. We also did the ghost tour, I liked that too. I also walked around the historical area and visited the Juliette Gordon Low's house. If you are not familiar with her, she is the founder and creater of the Girl Scouts of America. A lot of the homes were also some movies, like the movie, Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil. Which made Savannah become even more popular after the book was published and the movie came out. So, to me Savannah, GA is a place I would definitely return to, because if you are into history, this is one of the places a family should visit.

"Carey" Hilliard's is probably the name of the restaurant you mentioned in the later part of your Fort Pulaski section.

Savannah and Tybee are my favorite places in the United States. The best place to eat on Tybee is "The Crab Shack"..where the elite eat in there feet. The communities are filled with natural beauty, eccentrics, history and pure southern charm. I highly recommend just parking your car down by the riverwalk and walking the city squares and seeing the sights of "Forrest Gump" (see where forrest sits on the bench..which is I believe is Wright Square) or "Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil (The Mercer House which is where Jim Williams really did live).

I am interested in traveling to Georgia with my daughter in September. We were thinking of staying in Savannah or on Tybee Island. Can anyone recommend a nice place to stay with reasonable price? Thanks!
