We had a wonderful time visiting Italy. There is so much to take in; my 17 year old son appreciated it as much as I did. Culture, food, fun, history, relaxation, breathtaking scenery - Italy has something for everyone.
Dear Melanie, My son, who was 17 last August, and I spent about $6500 total for all 17 days, but$2000 of that was airfare. The hotels all gave breakfast; we had lunch on the go, and ate a good dinner each night. The weather in August was fine - in the mid 80's during the day. The only exception was the day we spent in Pompeii - that was brutally hot. Venice was actually cool - I needed a jacket in the evening. The only problem in August is that these places really do empty out - so many places are closed or empty because everyone is on vacation.
Would love to know how much this trip cost per person. I'm wanting to take my 18 year old and 21 year old this summer. What's the weather like in August?
