A Long Weekend in New York

driving in from jfk at night with the city glimmering in the distance definitely gets your blood flowing.

i haven't been back to new york since my wife and i moved back to california, so we did a a highlight reel of favorite places with our favorit friends.

we started things off with a great dinner at  montrachet.  an excellent glass of burgundy preceeded the wine challenge (a game where the sommelier selects a wine, you drink it blind and try to guess region, vintage, etc.).  we got 2 of 6 tidbits correct, which isn't half bad.

rounding off the evening, we went up the street to anotherroom for some lively after-dinner drinks accompanied by good music and draft chimays before retiring for the evening.
