2012 China Glimpse (Beijing,Shanghai,Hangzhou,Suzhou)

7-day journey introduces you to the splendors of Eastern China. See Imperial Beijing, the classic gardens of Suzhou, West Lake and the metropolis of Shanghai.

Day1: Arrive Beijing
Arrive in Beijing, the capital of China. You will be greeted and transferred to your hotel.
Hotel: Oriental Bay Hotel 5* or similar

Day2: Beijing (B/L/D)
In the morning we tour the Forbidden City; a huge complex of palaces, pavilions, courtyards and gardens. Walk through Tian’anmen Square, the site of many history-making events. After lunch, visit the Summer Palace, located in a park full of charming pavilions and scenic views. This evening watch the famous Beijing acrobatic show.

Day3: Beijing (B/L/SD)
Today we visit the Great Wall; this man-made structure winds like a dragon across Northern China. After lunch, visit the Ming Tombs, and drive by the Olympic Village. Tonight you will have the famous Beijing Duck dinner.

Day4: Beijing / Shanghai / Wuxi / Suzhou (B/L/D)
Fly to Shanghai in the morning, China’s largest city and the so-called “Paris of the East”. Upon arrival, head to Wuxi, where we will visit the Liyuan Garden, Pearl Breeding Center and Museum of Yixing pottery teapot. Continue our trip to Suzhou, a city famous for its rivers, bridges, and silk products.
Hotel: Metro Park Hotel 5* or similar

Day5: Suzhou / Hangzhou (B/L/D)
Here we stroll through Hanshan Temple and the Lingering Garden, and take a boat cruise on the Grand Canal. We will visit Suzhou’s Silk Factory, where the reeling process for unwinding silk filaments from cocoons might fascinate you. Then we continue our trip to Hangzhou, a city known for its beauty for centuries.
Hotel: New Century Grand Hotel 5* or similar

Day6: Hangzhou / Shanghai (B/L/D)
A boat ride on the beautiful West Lake, visit Huagang Park, and a visit to a tea plantation where we watch the world-famous “Dragon Well” tea being prepared. Continue our trip via coach to Shanghai. Upon arrival, visit Jewellery Factory. Then tour the Bund, the famous riverfront promenade where we can see high-rises of different architectural styles.
Hotel: Sheraton Hotel Shanghai 5* or similar

Day7:: Shanghai / Homebound flight (B)
Enjoy breakfast, and then transfer to the airport for your return flight.
