Day Number One Today we left the house at 6:45 am on our way to catch the Ferry in North Sydney to Port Aux Basques. Poppy slept until Halifax where we were diverted around the end of the 101 because there was a car accident earlier in the morning and they were still cleaning up. It took us about 45 min to get through all the diversions, and then we were back on our way to the Highlanders(Ferry's name). We stopped in Truro at the Glooscap Heritage Centre for a bathroom break. While we were there a Tour bus made a stop where they watched a Pow Wow ceremony, and we watched in behind. Then we were on our way again. We made it to Antigonish before we stopped for Lunch. Then we were on again. We then drove all they way to North Sydney and we were finally there to wait an hour for the Ferry. I had a nap in the car while we waited to board. Once we were on the Ferry we went to our cabin and had a nice nap. Once I laid down and the Ferry started to pull away from the dock. I was rocked right to sleep. Oh how I sometimes miss my rocking bed. When I woke up I went for a walk around and heard the announcement we were docking in an hour. The whole time I walked around I was thinking we didn't have a Safety Briefing and I made it my mission to try to figure out where we were suppose to go. Those waters would be cold. I found a Muster Station A and a Muster Station B, but had no idea which one we were suppose to go to. Then I started realizing that I was going crazy and this is what working on a ship does to you. Once we docked neither one of us were tired since we slept the entire time, we would just drive. So we went and it was a nice night, a few spots were rainy but nothing that you couldn't see the side of the road to watch for Moose. When we both got tired we had been driving for an hour without seeing anything so once we got to the first motel we saw we stopped. Unfortunately there was No Vacancy. We started again and saw not even a light for the first 5 min so we decided to turn back and sleep in the back of the SUV. It was actually quite comfortable.
