On the Road Details
The trip from our home to our first major destination at Mobile, AL is an approximate 6 hour drive. Since we'll be travelling with 2 children under the age of 10 (& possibly an infant), we need to consider frequent stops (about every 2 hours). Baton Rouge (LA) & Gulfport (MS) will be our stops for breakfast & snacks/restrooms, stopping more frequently only if absolutely necessary. On the Road Itinerary Day 1 4:00 AM - Leave home. 6:30 AM - Arrive in Baton Rouge. Breakfast, bathroom, & stretch break! 7:00 AM - Leave Baton Rouge. 9:30 AM - Arrive in Gulfport. Snack, bathroom, & stretch break! Note anything to see on the trip home. 10:00 AM - Leave Gulfport. If the kids want a nap, they need to get it in now! Afternoon & evening will be full of exploring & fun on the beach! 12:00 PM - Arrive in Dauphin Island. Snack, bathroom, & stretch break! Explore & enjoy the area! 1:30 PM - Lunch break at Dauphin Island. Find a local spot! 4:00 PM - Leave Dauphin Island. 6:00 PM - Arrive in Pensacola Beach & check into hotel.

Ok, that helped me so much! I should make a couple more stops! With a 10 and 13, boys...I was thinking NO for lunch and them to Pensacola, but I could do a Alabama, stop on the way! thanks for sharing!
