The Myriad Life of Manila in Three Days

A 3 day trip, travelling to Manila
The long history of the Philippines as a colony of Spain left … More
The long history of the Philippines as a colony of Spain left a deep influence in its culture, particularly in its architecture. The existence of numerous churches in Manila, the capital, attests to this. Some notable churches in Manila are the Church of San Agustin, a World Heritage Site declared by UNESCO because of its outstanding Baroque architecture.

With plenty of sights and activities in and around the metropolis, it is recommended that visitors plan their trip ahead of time so they can accommodate attractions outside the city.

Here’s a three-day itinerary suggestion for travelers that covers the historical sights in Manila and popular attractions in Pagsanjan and Subic. More options are available on City-Discovery.com.

Manila City and Tagaytay Combo Tour

Start the day with a trip to Tagaytay, a popular summer destination among local tourists. Located 2,250 feet above sea level, Tagaytay City offers a panoramic view of Taal Volcano, considered by many as the smallest volcano in the world. Enjoy  local cuisine for lunch in Tagaytay before driving down to Metro Manila for the second part of the tour.

First stop is the American War Memorial and Cemetery, the largest and most beautiful of American memorials outside the Continental U.S. Visit the Walled City of Intramuros to see the ancient church ruins and other relics of the Spanish Conquistadors and proceed to Fort Santiago, a Spanish fortress that once watched over the entrance to Pasig River.

Spend the evening with a dinner and cultural show featuring native dances.  Savor a wide range of local dishes and delicacies in a typical "barrio fiesta" atmosphere.
