People attending this trip: Peggy (mom), Tom (mom's BF), Herman (Tom's dad), Zac (brother), Cale (Tom's son), Theresa (Cale's GF), and me (Tiffany).
Operation: Sail
Late in the afternoon mom and I were picked up by Tom and Herman for the first leg of the journey... get to Minneapolis. Our plane out of MSP left early the next morning.
Initially we went to the wrong hotel. Who knew there were two Comfort Suites on American Blvd. We met up with Cale, Theresa and her parents at Macaroni Grill for a pre-trip meal. My friend Alaina joined us (and brought me my shoes).
The shoe story. About three months before the trip I ordered a pair of FiveFingers through a store in Duluth. After trying on many styles and finally decided on a size (if you know the shoes, you know they are a little "different") and color. Unfortunately they didn't have them in stock. Two weeks before we left I hadn't received them yet. Apparently they were gaining in popularity and were back ordered. Uh oh. I called every location in Duluth and Minneapolis trying to locate the shoe. After getting tossed back and forth from different locations in Minneapolis, I finally tracked down a pair at Scheuler Shoes in Edina (I think? Maybe Minnetonka) two days before we left. I didn't have time to make a separate down, so I was able to pay for them over the phone and Alaina picked them up (took a picture and sent it to me for confirmation, and to mock me).
The food was good, the wine was good. (Side Note: this was my first time having alcohol in over a year)
Returned to hotel. Slept.
