Sunday
We started out early and took the PCH up to Santa Barbara. Nice drive up the coast. Went through Malibu. Not sure why anyone would pay this prices for these houses.
We stopped at Sues cousins house first. They were not there so we left a note that we would be back. Went on to the Santa Barbara Mission in town. This is a mission started in the late 1700's. We took the self guided tour of the place. Since we both love history, it was very cool. You could walk the grounds, go through the chapel, the burial grounds, then it has rooms with items from the days of the mission. Of course it then empties into,,,, drum roll......a gift shop. Who would have seen that coming.
We then found a winery, Santa Barbara Winery. They had wine tasting and we sampled 5-6 different wines. VERY good wines. We chose a bottle of Sauvenon Blanc to buy. We also got the glasses we used.
On the way here, we saw an arts and crafts fair on the strip close to the beach so we went and looked around. Sue bought a few lil things. Nice walk, but it was real windy so alot of people were packing up.
We thought we would try her cousins again even tho we didn't hear from them. As we were coming up to the house there was a car pulling out of the driveway so we honked the horn and they realized it was for them as we turned into their driveway. They turned around and came back. We stayed from an hour or so and Sue and them talked about the family. We got a tour of their gardens.
Back to the hotel for the night, but first we had dinner at The Spot
