California 2011

Friday.

Other than getting up at 3am for the 6am flight, the flight was just long. Non stop is nice, but to the left coast thats a long flight. We were surprised that they showed The Kings Speech for the movie as it just won the academy award for best picture.

Once we landed and grabbed a car, National car is great if you have Emerald Club, just bypass the counter and go pick out a car you like,  we checked in at the hotel. Because of all my work travels, I got the hotel on points for the week. Luckily they had a room open because we were there early for checkin. Then we headed to The Spot for lunch.

We met Tonya, Sues sis in law, who owns The Spot there and had lunch. The Spot is a vegetarian restaurant a block up from Hermosa Beach. Now I am not a vegetarian, but its very good.

Then we went over to Sues brothers apartment. He lives in Redondo Beach, next town over. It was great to see them again. Nice apartment a few blocks up from the beach. Oh it would be nice to be able to afford something around here. Anyone got a spare 5 mil hanging around?

We went out and had chinese with Jim, Shelley, and her mother. Crashed early that night.
