Oregon-Mount Hood, Pacific coast, Redwood Forest, Crater Lake.

Flew into Portland from New Orleans, LA. Landed in a cold rain (We are told that this is common in Oregon). Picked up the rental 4WD SUV (Escape) with a GPS added to the rental (the salesman had a hard time getting me to spend the extra $12 a day for it-MISTAKE) The GPS unit rental was the BEST!!!! decision of the whole trip. We used the GPS and the Oregon Tourist Commission guide for all hotel and eating decisions. Made no other plans other than to fly out of Portland on the following Sat. (12th).

Set GPS for International Rose Test Garden and went from there. While we were there a wedding was going on (the rain cleared up). Japanese Garden also-it was across the street from the Int. Rose Garden.
