Up early and hit the gym for a quick workout. We had breakfast at the hotel. They had a really good breakfast buffet. We headed out to Williamsburg, VA at around 10am. Oh .. we packed a lunch .. which was nice. Once there we got our tickets and maps. Robin ended up getting a season pass .. ended up being cheaper in the long run ( and short run) Lincoln wanted to dress in period costume, so we found the place to do this and he got dressed up. We got on the bus and headed to Colonial Williamsburg. First place we stopped was the Magazine and we made it just in time for a presentation .. pretty cool. We then walked over to the guard house and Lincoln got some instruction on how to handle his weapon .. pretty cool. We then took a walk over near the palace .. and we ran into grandmother and grandfather who had just gotten there. We then joined up with a children’s tour and learned a little history, played games and so forth. After this we headed back over main street and played near the stocks and saw a quick presentation in the court house. The around 1pm there was a call to arms ( to get the militia in ranks) to march with the fife and drum corp. Lincoln was the first to volunteer and soon there were many falling in to march. The Sargent was berating everyone for not volunteering .. pretty funny. The marched together for about 2 blocks .. Lincoln was in the very front and looking very serious. After this concluded we went to the palace for a tour which was really cool. We walked though the building and out into the gardens, down into the cellar and then to the kitchen area .. they were actually cooking food in the kitchen. We then went for a walk down to Merchant's Square for a drink and to look around. Then we headed back.. stopped briefly at the quilters house ... and then back to the bus. We needed to get back to hotel because aunt Diane, Steven and Jordan were coming into town. So .. we got back to hotel and met up and visited and then we went to seafood restaurant for dinner. Harpoons Larry's Oyster Bar and Restaurant ( it was very good!). When we got back everyone played cards and talked. Dad went back to the room with a slight tummy ache.
